In 2002, Rick Ball, the current CEO, founded Avalanche Air Systems. The company is an HVAC commercial contractor that offers heating, ventilation, A/C installations, RTU & MUA installations, and sheet metal for commercial and industrial sites.
Avalanche uses a variety of software services to stay organized and efficient in accounting and estimate, project management and sheet metal manufacturing.
Avalanche currently uses Quick Pen for all estimating work. Avalanche also uses Sage 100 Contractor for all accounting and project management work and Vulcan software for proficient sheet metal cutting and manufacturing.
Avalanche also created the Contractor Forms App allowing contractor’s, job Foreman’s, site supervisors, and service technicians have the ability to complete their paperwork in the field for rapid distribution to their office, clients, and consultants.
Avalanche Air Systems has established itself as a premier HVAC and Sheet Metal service company and holds a very successful track record as one of the fastest growing Canadian businesses.
Avalanche Air Systems began as a labor contract business with a single part-time employee. It has grown significantly in that time. In the early days, Rick alone handled all of the quotes, price estimates, administration, and accounting. Eventually, Rick and his wife Rene expanded the business and went after their own contracts. Shortly thereafter, the company was getting enough business that it could take on a few permanent employees. Once word-of-mouth spread about Avalanche Air Systems, they were getting enough of their own contracts to stop taking on new labor contracts. Today, the company has approximately 30 employees, a company truck fleet, and a large office and manufacturing facility located in Calgary.
